  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Universal Credit - if you and your partner have a combined income from work of less than £15,400 a year after tax

  • tax credits and you have a household annual income of under £16,190 before tax

  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

  • support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act

  • the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

Universal 15 hours funding

Every child will receive up to 15 hours of funded care and education, once they are 3 years of age. At Small Steps the 15 hours funding is stretched out over the whole year so you can claim up to 12 hours per week.

This funding will begin the term after their 3rd birthday (so either starting in September, January or April).

We will be able to apply for this on your behalf, you will just need to fill in a form to confirm this at the time of our application for this funding.

Please speak to us about how this funding can be used at Small Steps Day Nursery.

Extended Funding for 3 and 4 year olds

Working parents may also be eligible for the extended 570 hours for 3 & 4 year old children. (Extended or "30 hours" funding) This will begin the term after your child turns 3 years old.

At Small Steps we stretch this funding to cover the whole year, so you will be able to claim up to 23.5 hours per week.

You will need to apply for this via the Childcare Choices website and then give us the code that you will be provided with.

Please speak to a member of staff about how you hours can be used at Small Steps Day Nursery.
